Kuummiut..View from helicopter
Kuummiut... Summertime....Beautifully placed by The Ammassalik Fjord (Angmagsalik). Founded in 1905 as a setlement, but here had lived people for hundreds of years...Even the Norsemen have been here nearly 1000 years ago.
An exelent place for hunting and fishing.
The name of the setlement..Kuummiut means: The people by the river.

A bigger local glacier also moving back.....An old man told me: In the Sermeliq Icefjord one of the glaciers had moved back, nearly 3km in a few years.Yesterday I wrote about the lack of packice.....Instead we have a lot of big whales. Today I couted over 10 Finnwhales.
