Русские делают так...The Russians are doing well

Один из жителей Kuummiut встретился наших российских гостей, не так далеко от Kuummiut ... Они делают так ... Мы надеемся, что они еще в Kuummiut 9, 10 или 11 Апрель...

One of the residents from Kuummiut met our Russian guests not so far from Kuummiut ... They are doing well ... We expect them back in Kuummiut 9th, 10 or 11 april...

On the "Road" again...

Today was my boat finaly in the water again ... The boat has been on the floe, since November ... It was great to feel the air and go again....

A special day

I stood and looked out the window .. Then came many small speedboats sailing ... The men in the boats shot up in the air with their rifles ... I knew that this was something extraordinary ... So I rushed down to the port .. . There were many people who had had the same idea ...

The people from the village gathered around a single speedboat.............
A happy boy ... His name is Mataani ...

Here is the reason for the large assembly of people ... A walrus ....

Mataani was a very proud hunter ... It was he who shot ... Much walrus meat for humans and dogs ... And there was joy everywhere ... Man is a part of the cycle of nature ... This was a welcome gift ...

Something I can look forward to....

Ice will disappear soon and my boat will finally float on the water again .... I also yearn to go again ... Soon, the inlet being filled with the small fish called capelin. In Greenlandic named "Ammassat" ... There are so many fish that you can just shovels them up in the boat ....

On a sunny day....

During the night between Friday and Saturday was a very cold and windy night ... Saturday morning we would have had a ski competition at school, but we had to cancel because of the weather ... Saturday at noon the weather was better, and I went for a walk out to the boat....

Our Russian friends left us last Thursday ... They would on an expedition in the mountains north of Kuummiut ... We expect them back in Kuummiut 9th or 10th of April.......
