It had rained for two days now...a litle wind...So I was on the fjord, first looking for seals but the wind started blowing. I sailed to the beach to catch some cods...I caught 8 big ones...

Sudenly i saw a whirlwind, and in a few minuttes the strong wind came... In a hurry I was back in the harbour in Kuummiut...

There are still Finnwhales in Ammassalik fjord, hunting crill....Always interesting to look at theese big animals.

Kuummiut (founded 1915) is a settlement in East Greenland in the municipality of Ammassalik. Kuummiut has 392 inhabitants (January 2005). Kuummiut is located at 65°52′00″N, 37°01′00″W.
About snow: last winter we had 5 to 6 meters.
The heating in the small houses: Oil-fired burner or oil-fired central heating.
Power station: I think we have four diesel engines...Enough for surplying the setlement and the fishfactory.
Gasoline price: 0,81 USD, Danish kroner is our currancy 4,25Kr pr. liter
Clean diesel: Used for tractors and for heating: 0,71 USD, 3,72Dkr pr. liter

Fresh Greenlandic cod to China

Johanna Kristina returned to Tasiilaq with frosen cod from our fishfactory ....Via Denmark to China....

Chips candy softdrinks etc.

Today Friday our surplyship: "Johannea Kristina" came as usual on fridays.
Surplyes from Tasiilaq...Chips...softdrinks....candy....cigarettes...Beer...It seems to be the most important things...No vegitables....no fruit...Only one shop....monopoly.
