Two new friends

Yesterday I met two men from Scotland ... They sailed in kayaks and were traveling to all settlements in Ammassalik District ...

This morning padlede Craig and Richard to Tiniteqilaaq ... Both go back to Kuummiut in March 2010 and I look forward to seeing them again ... We had a good time together...
Kayaks made ready ... Fortunately, it is good weather today ...No wind....

Todays Iceberg

Iceberg in the innermost part of Ammassalik Fjord

Glaciers melt

Glacier in Ammassalik Fjord ... Earth banks shows clearly how far the glacier has withdrawn
On the mountain side you can see how high the glacier has been ...

And here is a very clear proof of the great rendering

Viewed from another angle.....

This photo I have taken from an airplane ... Glacier south of Scoresby Sound....

Kuummiut today

Today, a whale was close to my boat....
There were many beautiful icebergs in Ikasaq ......

Fire in the sky ... the sunset view from my sleeping room window ...

Ammassalik/Tasiilaq Pics.

The big red building: The school...
Beautiful mountains...

Blue Water...

Evening...

Small colorful wooden houses are scattered on the mountain sides, beautifully situated by an almost circular fjord and surrounded by high mountains. Tasiilaq is rightfully considered as one of the most beautiful towns in Greenland. A small river flowing through the Valley of Flowers behind the town divides the town in two. From June to August this valley is the perfect place to have a close look at the unique arctic flora. Around 1,924 inhabitants make the town the largest in East Greenland. Yes, you have reached the outskirts of civilization.
