Our little house in Kuummiut

Next week I move into our little house ... The big house must be ready so there will hopefully soon move a new teacher in the house. My wife and daughter moved to Denmark in June ... I miss them very much, also my two big kids ... I will stop as a teacher at the school in Kuummiut 1st January 2010. So if you are a teacher trained and can teach English and Danish there is job here in Kuummiut contact our Principal Mikkel Boassen if you are interested kuumalivarpik@greennet.gl I move to Denmark with my family ... We keep our little house , we will spend our holidays here in Kuummiut....

Here is the little house as it looked when I bought the 1st April 2009 ... I do not think the house has been painted in 25 years ... Fortunately, rotting wood is not so easy in polar regions .....

There had been smashed 3 windows in the house when I bought it .. I bought new windows for the house and had them sent up by air freight from Denmark ...

House painted in September 2009 ... I think it's been a part prettier

I am delighted to move into the house ... It has also been renovated inside

Carl,

That's a deeply touching post. I am happy for you to join your family, but sorry to loose your Kuummiut posts I always read. Your short reports and very good photos are among my favourite.

I am a trained teacher and can speak English, but a Mathematics teacher for grown up students (age 5-18); and I have my family too...

I just hope some day I can visit Greenland and, maybe, stay in your little town...

Well, until January 2010, we'll be in touch, right?

Best regards and congratulations for your nice new red house,

Mario

Hej Skou. Det var dog ualmindeligt trist, at du rejser fra Kuummiut!!
Din hjemmeside er ualmindelig god, og jeg kommer til at savne den. Dine billeder er unikke, og en god reklame for området.
Hilsen fra Bent

Very nice report indeed! Thanks to Your photos, we all may see that GREENLAND is really GREEN!
I invite You to see my site about something that there is not in Greenland, namely the political borders. It is a collection of ca 500 big photos, from all the world.
Best wishes from an Estonian living in Italy!
