We sailed all day on the fjord ... IDA has caught many capelins on this little fishing rod ... Every year in May-June months the fish swim in huge numbers to Ammassalik Fjord ... Here they put their eggs in the low water near the coast ... The Greenlandic word: "Ammassat" means capelin ... The Fjord and city has been named "Ammassalik" because of the small fish ...

The capelins comes in enormus amounts to our Fjord here in May and June. It is possible to shovel up the capelins near the beach. You can just fill up your boat, if you want.
