We sailed all day on the fjord ... IDA has caught many capelins on this little fishing rod ... Every year in May-June months the fish swim in huge numbers to Ammassalik Fjord ... Here they put their eggs in the low water near the coast ... The Greenlandic word: "Ammassat" means capelin ... The Fjord and city has been named "Ammassalik" because of the small fish ...

Icebergs from Ammassalik Fjord

This morning I sailed on Ammassalik Fjord ... It was gray weather ... I sailed into the Qinga to look for capelins ... Delicious small fish, which I can simply shovel up in the boat ... Later on the day I sailed out to see, if I could catch a seal ... But I was so impressed by the iceberg, so instead it was a photo safari :-)

It is 9 in the evening .... mist above the fjord .... I can only see the mountain peaks on the other side of the fjord....
